Air India vacancy for Chief Strategy Officer | Last Date : 27/01/2011

Air India intends to appoint a Chief Strategy Officer who will be attached to the office of Chairman &
Managing Director. He/She is expected to coordinate with the Chief Operating Officer as well as Senior
Departmental heads including the Functional Directors, with a view to help monitor progress as per
timelines, work out modification in strategies with the ultimate objective of turn around strategy of Air
India being translated into measurable results.

Position: Chief Strategy Officer

Duties & responsibilities :

As broadly given above, the CSO will work closely with the CMD and incubate new ideas and special
projects. He/She should also be competent to evaluate project proposal in collaboration / coordination
with Project Leads;

# Monitor / evaluate, on a continuous basis, and brief the CMD on the Key Performance Indicators,
whether they are being achieved as per time line;
# Prepare analytical reports on the Operating / Commercial / Financial performance of Strategic
Business Units which are likely to be treated as independent profit centers under the overall umbrella of
Air India;
# Gather intelligence about market competence and technology;
# Evaluate and suggest variations in strategies in line with market conditions and report to the CMD on
such matters;
# The CSO may be nominated / associated with different management Committees.

Qualification & Experience :

* Minimum post graduate MBA degree with major in business, finance, strategy, marketing from a
premier institute, in India or abroad;
* Prior experience in working closely with Senior Management Executives in the implementation of
corporate level transformation plans.
* At least five years experience either as Management Consultant or in similar position having
worked with a consulting firm of international repute;
* Airline consulting, experience and domain knowledge will be considered as an important advantage
to the candidate while being evaluated;
* High level of experience and knowledge in handling complicated and large IT project implementation
will be preferred;
* Compensation package will not be a constraint as long as it is commensurate with the candidates
qualification and experience and in line with the Company policies.
